So I'm scheduled to get my face dissected (read: get wisdom teeth removed) on monday, so I was prescribed a mouth wash to take twice a day until the surgery. I took it this morning at around 10 to 6. At lunch time nearly 5 and a half hours later, I found that I couldn't taste a damn thing. I also discovered that those chocolate covered granola bars have a pretty nasty texture when there's no chocolate flavor to enjoy. I text my mom because it kind of sucks, and she calls the doctor.

I got back home another 5 and a half hours later, and I still don't has any flavors. My mom returns a little bit after, so I ask what the doctor said. It went something like "Huh :/ Okay, take less of it and don't swish for as long." Turns out that, while I'm prescribed to take a cap and swish for 2 minutes, the recommended dose is a cap for 30 seconds

My mom also found a leaflet with side effects and stuff that the pharmacies usually take off. It says that some may experience an altered sense of taste and, in rare cases, may lose ability to taste permanently.

We laughed when she told me this, but I'll be pretty pissed if it is permanent B|
